Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) have joined efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country, by introducing ethanol-based hand sanitizer at all outlets.

The move was brought to the attention of Power and Energy Minister Mahinda Amaraweera during a visit to CPSTL today, to observe the distribution of fuel during the curfew period. According to the Minister, one fuel station will remain open in every Police division, even when curfew is imposed, to ensure essential services continue without disruption.

Amaraweera also assured the public that CPC has an adequate store of fuel, and there will be no interruptions to fuel supply.
