COVID-19 death count rises to 118

The COVID-19 death toll yesterday increased to 118, with health authorities confirming two COVID-19 deaths in the country.

According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, an individual from Atalugama died at home on 28 November. The cause of death is cited as high cholesterol, diabetes, and high blood pressure aggravated by COVID-19. She was 81 years old.

On 27 November, a resident of Galaha passed away while being admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. He was 72 years old and died of high blood pressure, diabetes, and a heart attack associated with COVID-19.
