CC to meet to decide on new SC nominee

The Constitutional Council will meet on Wednesday to consider President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by the demise of Justice Prasanna Jayawardena.

The President of the Court of Appeal Yasantha Kodagoda PC has been recommended by the President   to the CC.

The CC, which is headed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, will meet on Wednesday afternoon to finalise the appointment, Daily FT learns.
