Ambassador Lamawansa presents letter of credence to Moldova President

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Moldova Prof. M.D. Lamawansa presented his letter of credence to the President of the Republic of Moldova Madame Maia Sandu on 12 February.

The official ceremony took place at the Presidential Office where six Ambassadors representing different countries presented their letters of credence. 

Ambassador Lamawansa conveyed greetings from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the President of Moldova. Madame Sandu welcomed the Sri Lankan diplomat in the Republic of Moldova and expressed hope for fruitful joint work in strengthening Moldova-Sri Lanka relations and wished success in fulfilling the diplomatic duties.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse Dr. Thamaramala Kannangara, and DHM, Minister Counsellor Mohamed Anas. 

Prior to the official ceremony Ambassador Lamawansa handed over copies of credentials to State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Dumitru Socolan.
