All Muslim religious educational institutes to close with immediate effect

Keeping in line with the Government’s decision to close all schools, the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs yesterday requested all Islamic religious education institutes to close their respective institutions with immediate effect until further notice. 

“I hereby kindly request the management committees of all Islamic religious education institutes to close their respective institution with immediate effect until further notice,” Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director A. B. M. Ashraff said issuing a statement yesterday. 

This includes the closing of Maktabs, Quran Madrasas, Hifl Madrasas, Ahadiya Schools and Arabic colleges where the students are day school goers from home in line with the Government’s decision to close all schools. 

However, the statement said that the residential Arabic colleges and Hifl Madrasas, may decide in consultation with the Area MOH.  “If they decide not to close, they should adhere to strict preventive health measures as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health,” the statement said.
