  • Travel between districts also prohibited
  • Delivery of essential goods only by approved vehicles
  • Private pharmacies ordered to close, only Osu Sala outlets to open

The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) yesterday issued a directive to all Police stations countrywide to strictly implement the imposed curfew.

The decision was taken after more people were observed travelling after the Government loosened restrictions to enable the public to visit pharmacies and banks. However, this was restricted yesterday with all private pharmacies directed to close shop and only Osu Sala outlets to remain open.

People suffering from Non-Communicable Diseases have been instructed to send a trustworthy person with the prescription to collect their medication from public hospitals, clinics and pharmacies. According to a Police press release, the decision was taken after it was observed that retail outlets and supermarkets which were allowed to function by arranging goods to be delivered also kept retail sales ongoing, ignoring instructions not to do so. All State-run Osu Sala pharmacies will remain open, the Police said
