Sri Lanka on Sunday saw 801 new COVID cases reported, bringing the cumulative total to 75,653 of whom nearly 7,500 are active.

On Saturday, 796 new cases were recorded. In a related development, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said that new guidelines pertaining to gatherings including weddings and parties are to be revised considering the spike in COVID cases in the country.
