Health authorities yesterday confirmed that four more COVID-19 deaths had occurred in the island, bringing the total COVID-19 death count to 73. 

According to health authorities, the deaths include a 27-year-old from Colombo 15 who died of liver disease worsened by COVID-10 while receiving treatment at the Colombo East Base Hospital. A 70-year-old resident of Colombo 10 passed away in a private hospital in Colombo due to COVID-19 with pneumonia. Health authorities added that two persons from the Kalutara District died of COVID-19 and a chest infection. The individuals were a 59-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man.
