Air pollution is a burning issue in most cities of the world. Although not as severe as in New Delhi, Karachi or Bangkok, air pollution is a problem in Colombo and in Kandy also. Combustion products from petrol and diesel in road vehicles is the single most contributory factor for air pollution, besides power plants, industry, fire wood and other natural causes and construction dust, etc. Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides, water vapour, carbon particles and unburned fuel, etc. are the combustion products of fossil fuels that power vehicles, construction equipment, power plants, industrial steam boilers and heating equipment.

The world is now turning towards alternative clean sustainable energy sources, such as solar, wind, etc. It is important to note that fossil fuels are a depleting source of energy, expensive and in limited supply. The annual total cost of importing fossil fuels to Sri Lanka is circa Rs. 500,000 million. It is emphasised that we are totally dependent on imported fuel supplies and therefore, saving on fossil fuels is as important as preserving the environment by reducing emissions, since fossil fuels are indispensable at the moment.

EMSOL – the performance fuel additive developed in Sri Lanka is our solution to these problems. EMSOL has reduced not only emissions from diesel and petrol vehicles down to 0.00 levels, but also has saved up to 29% on fuel cost, besides improving on power output by about 15%. EMSOL has been endorsed by the Automobile Association of Ceylon and tested for performance by SLTB, Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Air Force and a number of qualified mechanical and automobile engineers and technicians. EMSOL is already the trusted choice of a number of large fleet owners. EMSOL has been tested to ASTM standards at ITI, to ensure safety and performance.

EMSOL has four different solutions based on the market and industry needs. EMSOL-Fuel System Cleaner (Light Green Colour) is intended to get through annual emissions test easily, for tuning-ups in fuel dispensing systems employing Carburetor, EFI and Common Rail technologies and ‘Check Engine’ conditions related to fuel system. EMSOL-FSC cleans the entire fuel system from the tank down to the combustion chamber and valve deposits, and needs to be used once only in 80% cases, to be followed by EMSOL-Fuel Economiser (Light Blue Colour). EMSOL-FE gives 10%-22% added mileage and 15% added power when mixed to fuel at the ratio of 1:1000 (i.e.@1ml per Litre) of Petrol or Diesel, by improving Octane and Cetane, cylinder lubrication and supporting complete combustion, to prevent particulate emissions. These two retail market products are sold currently through a network of 400+ outlets in 160 cities and towns covering a radius of 150 km from Colombo and are intended for use by service providers, individual vehicle users and single day fishing crafts, etc. for economy in operation and maintenance.

EMSOL-D is the concentrated solution intended for use by bulk users, large fleet owners, power generators, multi-day fishing crafts in the corporate sector. EMSOL-D mixed at the ratio of 1:2500 (i.e. @ 1ml per 2.5 litres) of petrol, diesel or kerosene. EMSOL-BF is the product designed for the industry sector using diesel and furnace oil for steam boilers and driers, where both environmental compliance and economy of O & M are key factors. EMSOL-BF is mixed in the ratio of 1:4000. You can get more information about EMSOL from Youtube (EMSOL Sri Lanka) or visit www.emsol.lk or call the hotline – 071 9151077.
