For retailers, effective crisis management can be the difference between ensuring ongoing success and business failure. Crisis management is a crucial part for every business and must be prepared to deal with any crisis at any time. It can be too late if you are unprepared as information, emotion, and reaction overload can prove to be overwhelming and leave your organisation panic stricken. Preparation for a crisis, in any form, will help save lives, save money, save reputation and essentially save your organisation.

Businesses that fail to prepare for the worst are at a massive commercial disadvantage to those who seek to understand the threats and take action to reduce their vulnerabilities. Business reputations can be destroyed by a failure to plan and prepare for the unexpected.

This year’s Sri Lanka Retail Forum, will conclude with its final session on this current topic, with global experts to share their insights and learnings. Some of the expert presenters lined up are, Malaysian Optometry Association President and Malaysian Retailers Association (MRA) Council Member Steven Ng, Nestle Lanka Managing Director Fabrice Cavalie, Unilever Sri Lanka Chairman Carl Cruze, and Thai Retailers Association Executive Director Chatrchai Tuongratanaphan, with Singer Sri Lanka Former CEO Asoka Peiris as panel moderator.  Sri Lanka’s retail industry comes together to identify new trends and map out new strategies at its premier knowledge event, Sri Lanka Retail Forum 2019, which is to be held on 26 and 27 November at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. The Forum is organised by Sri Lanka Retailers’ Association and will feature four thematic sessions, with local resource persons, and foreign experts in the global retail ecosystem.
