New Digital Director at Leo Burnett Sri Lanka

Leo Burnett Sri Lanka, the local office of Leo Burnett Worldwide, recently announced the appointment of Neeraj Karambelkar as the agency’s new Digital Director. 

Neeraj recently joined the team to overlook the agency’s rapidly expanding digital communications business, which services all the Group companies. 

Over the course of his 13-year career, Neeraj Karambelkar has gathered vast experience and expertise from several globally recognised organisations during his career in India with companies such as J Walter Thompson (JWT), Fox International Channels, HarperCollins Publishers, Fame Digital and GroupM Media. In his last role as Senior Business Director – Content at GroupM Media India, Neeraj was responsible for leading the Native Content Marketing practice for the Central Content team ensuring increased profitability for GroupM agencies worldwide. 

His role involved implementing best practices, offering innovative content marketing solutions to clients and the growth of the business. Within a year, Neeraj helped grow the company’s practice by 116% by bringing on board new clients, customising solutions and expanding the agency’s publisher network. During his tenure at GroupM Media India, Neeraj also successfully developed and formalised the content marketing performance framework to help agencies evaluate and identify partners, keeping in mind specific communication objectives and standardisation protocols.

Neeraj Karambelkar has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communications and Management from the National Institute of Advertising, New Delhi and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He is primarily a consumer marketer, brand builder and media professional with an exceptional track record across the fields of advertising, television, publishing and OTT. Neeraj has built a reputation for launching and building brands from the ground up, and for harnessing new business opportunities. His marketing excellence has been recognised with multiple awards such as IDMA Awards, DMA Asia Awards, Maddies Awards, Mobbys Awards, CMO Asia Awards and Horlicks NINJA Awards.
