Sri Lanka’s pioneering Integrated Marketing Communications agency NGage, now in its 27th year, continued to show its innovative prowess in doing breakthrough campaigns for its clients that are recognised for their success and creativity. Impressing the jury and winning Golds for the agency were two widely contrasting campaigns.

The online campaign for Family Health International focused on reaching out to vulnerable target groups to educate on HIV and AIDs and promote testing using a very bold and creative campaign on a variety of social media platforms and gossip sites to drive traffic to a website that facilitated access to medical services.

Much in contrast was the engagement campaign for Rainco’s new range of Trendy denim-look umbrellas which demonstrated the ability for such youth-oriented brands to effectively target and engage young people by singularly using digital as a focused medium for brand marketing.

Speaking on the agency’s success its Founder and Chairman Nimal Gunewardena said, “Our success through the years has been based on our pioneering spirit to explore, learn and master. While there are many players coming into the digital communications arena today, our strength and differentiation is that we build on our strong creative base, getting our team to adapt their skills honed on mainstream advertising into engagement mode in exploring the myriad possibilities of digital.”

The Agency has explored online media since the year 2000 when it did work for SriLankan Airlines, Benson & Hedges and Carlsberg and sees digital as the medium of the future. It is investing in building strong in-house and collaborative resources that can tap the engagement potential of digital by developing its capabilities in driving engagement and edutainment campaigns that incorporate web-video productions and innovative use of social media platforms.
