Today we live in a highly volatile, uncertain and dynamically changing corporate landscape. We see numerous challenges around us from political instability to extreme weather patterns to the transformative effect of digitisation and AI.

These challenges affect all of us and finding solutions to them requires new ways of doing business, new skills and new types of leadership. We need to look at bringing in the best of diverse talent so that we have a workforce that is equipped with the qualities that are needed to run a successful and future ready business.

Particularly in this landscape, harnessing the knowledge and skills of women who make up over 50% of the population is critical. Furthermore, their innate collaborative and nurturing skills become exceedingly important in the new framework of a knowledge economy.

The current environment when customer centricity has become a focal point for businesses, getting more women on boards is critical as they bring the aspect of AI more to the discussion and substantive change in the workplace must start at the top  Equally important is an organisation’s ability to build a leadership pipeline of women who are well equipped and ready to tackle the challenges of the future.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) Women Directors Forum, launched in June this year, has organised an evening forum, as part of SLID’s series of Power Evening discussions, titled ‘Growth Dynamic: Harnessing the Potential of women’ on 8 August from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

To showcase how Unilever has moved from awareness to implementation of gender balanced organisations, Unilever Sri Lanka Chairman Carl Cruz will share the experiences and outcomes of Unilever’s proactive gender diversity program.

His keynote address will be followed by an interactive panel discussion with Commercial Bank’s former Chairman Mahendra Amarasuriya and Virtusa Senior Director HR Chandi Dharmaratne and moderated by SLID Vice Chairperson, WDF Chairperson and Sampath Bank Director Aroshi Nanayakkara.

Priced at Rs. 3,800 for SLID members and Rs. 4,500 for non-members, participation in this event is not restricted to women. For more information or to register, please contact Mala on 2575295.
