Sri Lankan students, currently enrolled at the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), last week held the Sri Lankan Cultural Week to promote Sri Lankan historic and cultural heritage among the international student community at the RUDN University.

In the framework of the Sri Lankan Cultural Week, all students have a chance to get familiarised with Sri Lankan traditions and customs and taste pure Ceylon tea. A food festival with items of unique Sri Lankan cuisine was also organised in the beginning of the week.

Dr. Athula Withanage, an alumnus of the RUDN University (former Patrice Lumumba University), also delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The Sri Lankan Cultural Week concluded on 15 February with a beauty pageant with participation of Sri Lankan female students from different Russian universities.
