Singer-Beko alliance brings to life ‘Fun Baking for Kids’

The eagerly-awaited initiative, ‘Fun Baking for Kids’, organised by Singer Sri Lanka in partnership with Beko, witnessed young amateur chefs competing to conjure up lip-smacking confectionaries during the festive season.

Apart from a resourceful way to spend the holiday season, ‘Fun Baking for Kids’ has proved to be a highly engaging and fun-filled event for entire families for the past few years. Repeating its success yet again, Fun Baking for Kids was held during the recent 2019 Christmas holidays at the Beko flagship store in Horton Place. Organised on a large scale, the event witnessed the participation of 60+ excited children in the eight to 13 years category, partnering with their equally enthusiastic moms to serve up holiday themed confectioneries such as creative sweets and scrumptious snacks.  

The Singer-Beko alliance created this fun concept to ignite a passion for baking amongst children as a creative and fruitful hobby that develops important skills. Involving children in the kitchen has been linked to a direct increase in food awareness, consumption and personal confidence, according to research published by the Cambridge University Press.
