Mobitel powers Raigam SoMe Awards 2019

Mobitel, Sri Lanka’s national mobile service provider has come forward to support Social Media Awards (SoMe) Awards 2019, Sri Lanka’s most anticipated social media award ceremony. Organised by Raigam, SoMe awards is a novel idea that recognises various talents of social media content creators who are in different clusters and have built their image through various social media platforms. 

As an innovator and a pioneer, SoMe Awards will also be the first social media award ceremony to introduce web-based voting. The gala SoMe Awards 2019 which is expected to be the most viewed award ceremony on YouTube will take place on 11 January, at Trace Expert City, Colombo.

Mobitel is proud to facilitate the awards ceremony by bringing into prominence the power of social media and videos to unearth new talent and place it in the spotlight, thereby fulfilling dreams of many vibrant characters. The new social media award segment will select best of the best across Facebook, Youtube and other social media platforms, while the jury awards will select music and film related winners. Social media has become the medium that Millennials go to for all their news and recreational purposes and these awards appreciate quality content across the various social media platforms. 

Furthermore, all entries will be evaluated by a veteran panel of judges consisting of five members covering all aspects of media and productions. The award ceremony will consist of two main categories namely ‘Social Media Awards’ and ‘Video Awards’ and there will be 35 awards in total. Winners will be rewarded with iconic trophies and cash prizes. To select the winners of popular categories audience can vote by simply visiting www.SoMeawards.lk till 9 January.
