Marc Jacobs’ newest fragrance Perfect now in Sri Lanka

Luxasia SL Ltd. said this week Marc Jacobs’ newest fragrance Perfect has been launched in Sri Lanka. 

The playful and unexpected new scent from Marc Jacobs is a celebration of optimism, self-acceptance, and originality. Perfect is inspired by Marc Jacobs’ mantra: “I am perfect as I am,” which is symbolised by a tattoo of the word “perfect” on his wrist. 

“I put it there to remind me, that when I’m looking at myself and wishing that i could be stronger in this way or better at that thing, i can just say no, I’m exactly how i need to be right now. So, perfect,” Marc Jacobs.

Like his tattoo, Perfect Marc Jacobs is about embracing and expressing one’s true self. It’s a colorful story of contrasts, true to Marc Jacobs’ style, present throughout the campaign, fragrance, and design.

Modern, bright, and feminine, Perfect Marc Jacobs is a comforting floral scent with an addictive quality. Created by perfumer Domitille Michalon-Bertier of iff, Perfect is an unconventional yet harmonious clash of fresh floral and calming smooth accords. 

The fragrance opens with juicy notes of rhubarb and bright daffodil that reveal a comforting heart of almond milk. At the base, cedarwood and cashmeran impart a soft dry down for a cocooning finish. Perfect is nothing you would expect and everything it needs to be. In true Marc Jacobs fashion, the Perfect Marc Jacobs bottle is crafted with an elegant blend of unexpected elements. The weighted glass base is inspired by the grace and style of a classic parfum, with domed shoulders and a gilded collar. 

Inside, a blush pink juice highlights the artful edges of the bottle. At the top, a crystal-cut cap is crowned with an eclectic and multicolored collection of mis-matched charms. Each charm was selected by Marc himself, and injects a touch of his irreverent style into the design. Complementary to the bottle, the outer packaging is an ode to vintage fragrance boxes. Outfitted in a delicate blush pink matte hue, the carton features an original pastel-colored illustration of the perfect bottle from New York based artist, Jacky Blue. 

Drawing inspiration from Marc’s mantra, the Perfect Marc Jacobs campaign is an inclusive illustration of self-love and authenticity. The campaign stars rising British model Lila Moss, daughter of supermodel Kate Moss, and a supporting cast of 42 people hand-picked through an open social media casting call. Shot in New York City by world-renowned fashion photographer Jürgen Teller, with creative direction from Katie Grand, the campaign is a vibrant collage of portraits and vignettes that showcase the contrasting beauty and individuality of the cast.

According to Luxasia SL Ltd., the Perfect EDP 100ML is priced at Rs. 27,300 and Perfect EDP 50ML is priced at Rs. 21,100.
