Cinnamon Bey launches its 7th dining experience, Tandoor

Cinnamon Bey Beruwala, part of the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts chain, recently launched the latest addition to its restaurant portfolio – Tandoor, which will now offer guests a delectable array of traditional Indian staple dishes and delicacies. Infused with rich spices and flavours, each course and meal at Tandoor will be prepared using a mix of culinary techniques, the freshest ingredients and the use of rustic clay ovens that will bring the very essence of quintessential Indian cuisine to the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Located overlooking the sea, in close proximity to one of the hotel’s signature restaurants, Tandoor by ‘800 Degrees’, is the first ever authentic Indian restaurant to be launched at Cinnamon Bey. Under the culinary expertise of Indian Chef Khan, whose roots stem from India, and who has been working in Sri Lanka for almost 10 years, a variety of tantalising tandoor dishes such as chicken tikka masala, together with a range of hearty curries as well as freshly baked naan breads, rotti bread, khichdi, a range of chutneys, and rasam will all be available. Serving guests between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the restaurant will provide indoor and outdoor seating arrangements that will be able to accommodate intimate gatherings of 12 and 15 guests respectively.

Considered to be a renowned destination for food enthusiasts, Cinnamon Bey Beruwala provides a wide range of mouth-watering dishes covering Sri Lankan and international cuisine with the launch of this classic Indian Clay Oven restaurant, Cinnamon Bey is now home to seven unique dining experiences that offer travellers ample choice during their stays at the hotel.

Commenting on the launch of Tandoor, Mike Jawad the General Management stated: “We are pleased to further enhance Cinnamon Bey’s diverse dining offering with the introduction of an exclusive Indian restaurant. From start to finish, with each and every bite of every meal served at Tandoor, we will strive to deliver an authentic and flavourful dining experience. I am honoured to have received the opportunity to overlook this particular restaurant, and I look forward to sharing the unique tastes, iconic dishes and signature staples that are the heart and soul of Indian cuisine, with travellers from across Sri Lanka and the world. Cinnamon is known for curating world-class gastronomic experiences, and we hope that Tandoor will further reinforce the hotel’s position as an iconic culinary hotspot in the region.”

Cinnamon Bey Beruwala is considered to be one of the largest resorts along the southern coastline, and the only resort in Sri Lanka that offers seven specialised dining options outside Colombo.
