Mount Lavinia Hotel featured in Amazing Race All-Stars 2014 Season

Mount Lavinia Hotel, once the residence to four British Governors and the country’s iconic colonial heritage hotel, joined forces with the Emmy award-winning reality competition series ‘The Amazing Race’ during its recent race stop in Sri Lanka. The Amazing Race: All-Stars 2014, which is the 24th installment of the reality television series, the Amazing Race witnessed contestants from previous seasons participating in this famous race around the world. A total of 11 teams travelled an impressive four continents, nine countries, 22 cities and 35,000 miles. Beginning with the first leg in the United States, the fifth and sixth legs were held in Sri Lanka with the pit-stop (finish line) for leg six being the breathtaking beachfront of the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Race contestants Leo and Jamal, cousins and participants of Season 23, won a trip for two to Berlin, Germany for being placed first in this leg of the race.
