It is an irrefutable fact that Sri Lankans love their Chinese food. While seasons come and seasons go, Chinese food remains at the heart of all our food cravings all year long. That is why Cinnamon Grand has made a habit of its Chinese Christmas buffet, offering patrons a chance to combine the festive spirit of the season and sharing meals with family and friends by indulging in the best of authentic Chinese cuisine. Now in its third year, the Chinese Christmas buffet is bettered each year and is a proven hit with patrons. This grand oriental repast celebrates the season with a truly delightful spread, boasting an array of Chinese starters, salads, soups, rice and noodles, main courses and action stations complete with a traditional dim sum corner. Epitomising the essence of merrymaking, this all-you-can-eat buffet lays out an extensive banquet of beef, pork, chicken, lamb and seafood, including fish, prawns and cuttlefish cooked in typically Chinese recipes, leaving nothing desired. Vegetarians too will be left spoilt for choice with an array of delicious dishes such as Chinese cabbage with almonds, vegetable dumplings, vegetable spring rolls, fried sweet potato leaves with garlic, celery with dry bean curd, stir fried kankun, wok fried lotus root with black mushroom, eggplant sweet and sour and ridge gourd with pepper and garlic cream, to name a few. The rice and noodle corner will dish out wok fried egg noodle with pakchoy and bean sprouts, prawn, crab and egg fried rice, Shanghai vegetable fried rice, fragrant harbour fried rice (sea food and chicken), chow mein with chicken, prawns and greens and Singapore curried vermicelli with chicken. Seasoned in authentic Chinese spices and sauces, each dish is a tribute to the traditional and exotic fare from the Far East. But if you prefer your Chinese with a touch of Sri Lankan, then that too has been thought of, with a range of ‘Sri Lankan Chinese’ dishes available. End it all with a wide selection of traditional Chinese desserts such as Poached fruit agar agar, almond cake with pecan dust, red bean soup with sesame wontons, five spice ice cream/ginger ice cream, chilled soya and almond bean curd, sago and peach jelly, Chinese custard tarts, Chinese sticky cake and peanut crunchies with hot chocolate as well as Chinese sesame almond cookies. Add a little twist to the flavours of your Christmas this year and add a dash of the exotic orient to your palate.
