Star Packaging Ltd. is one of Sri Lanka’s largest corrugated carton manufacturers. Star Packaging has earned its way up to becoming the market leader in the corrugated carton manufacturing business by using a cost effective supply chain process and providing on time delivery for their clients.

Star Packaging is an organisation that has been in the corrugation manufacturing business for over 15 years. The operations have expanded to a massive scale due to an increase in clients resulting in the need for a seamlessly integrated ERP solution.

Star Packaging Finance Director Shirley A. Peiris required the ERP to be highly scalable with features and functionalities that can match both current needs and their future expansion needs, and be able to cater to all its financial/accounting practices and financial reporting structures followed in Star Packaging. This was essential for seamless integration without any significant hold up.

The evaluation process for ERP vendor selection was based on a successful track record in the corrugation vertical, reputation for delivering client expectations, pricing, aftersales service and ISO compliance in the 9001:14001 certification. In all areas, Datamation Systems scored much higher than the competitors and were selected to deliver the ERP.

Prior to the implementation of the FiNAC ERP Solution, Star Packaging was utilising two standalone inventory systems and one in-house corrugation manufacturing system, which all relied heavily on manual data input – the finished and semi-finished goods delivery was all maintained in excel sheets. This was a tedious task which required a lot of man-hours in reconciliation.

The FiNAC ERP solution includes a detailed and comprehensive production planning module that enabled the management to manage its production output and processes without having a ripple effect caused by machine down times and high capacity order delays.

With high frequency of manufacturing comes the logistical concern. The delivery schedules and rostering of the vehicle fleet for delivered finished goods and semi-finished goods becomes a logistical nightmare. All of these areas of critical concern have been automated to resolve the logistical challenges faced on a daily basis. The FiNAC ERP is also totally integrated to provide Star Packaging their complete accounting data on time.

Datamation Systems Ltd. has been successfully providing business solutions since 1986. They are a software development firm with a mission to provide innovative services and solutions, and a vision of serving clients locally and across the globe. With an experience of catering to more than 25 vertical markets, with over six million man hours of pure ERP experience, over 400 satisfied clients and 1,200 modules successfully implemented across three countries, FiNAC is now ready to serve your business needs.
