Infotel 2019 showcases cutting edge technology to inspire all generations: FITIS Chairman

Infotel 2019 the National ICT Exhibition on the theme ‘Towards a Digital Nation’ organised by the Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) will be held from 1-3 November at BMICH, Colombo from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Speaking on the occasion, FITIS Chairman Abbas Kamrudeen said, “Large scale sweeping transformations across multiple aspects of business and lifestyle is happening globally and within Sri Lanka due to digitalisation. The complexity, pace and its impact are noticed globally and in Sri Lanka. Thus, Sri Lanka must ensure that it transforms itself speedily to ensure that it stays competitive in the global arena. 

“Hence, ‘towards a digital nation’ is an apt theme as across the board change and strategy is needed to stay relevant and par with a global digital world. At FITIS we understand that we must go with this tide and we are fully geared and have taken the lead to empower the nation to embrace digital technology. Infotel 2019 in its 27th anniversary is well-timed to showcase cutting edge technology that would inspire all generations. 

“I consider myself honoured at this moment as Chairman FITIS to be part of Infotel 2019, the annual exposition marking the 27th anniversary. This year’s Infotel features many facets of the industry including military innovations, start-ups, student innovations, enterprise grade technology solutions, digital government initiatives, IoT solutions and many more.
