President’s Awards for Scientific Publication held yesterday

The President’s Awards for Scientific Publication were held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo yesterday.

The President’s Awards for Scientific Publication started in 2001 to recognise Sri Lankan scientists with a Sri Lankan institutional affiliation whose work reached international standards, and to provide an incentive to increase national scientific productivity. 

This awards ceremony was organised by the National Research Council. 

This year, 200 scientists received awards for their scientific publications for 2015.

State Minister of Science Technology and Research Lakshman Seneviratne, Ministry Secretary Udaya R. Senevirathne, National Research Council Chairman Prof. H. Janaka de Silva, Executive Secretary Manisha Manisha Rajapakse and other distinguished personalities were present at the occasion.
