Pradeep Edward wins CEO of the Year Award

Sadaharitha Group Executive Director and CEO Dr. Pradeep Edward was awarded the prestigious ‘CEO of The Year’ award at the recently-concluded Sri Lanka Brand Leadership Awards 2020. 

This award comes across as a major milestone achievement in his journey as a corporate leader. The year 2020 saw him reaching newer heights in his corporate career, unleashing his full potential which entitled him for this award during his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics.

Sri Lanka Brand Leadership Awards is an annual awards accolade organised by the World Marketing Association and CMO Asia, a premium platform that recognises outstanding contributions of the marketing fraternity. 

Held this year as a virtual event, Sri Lanka Brand Leadership Awards 2020 recognised best organisations, brands and individuals for their commitment towards branding, consumer engagement and making a social change through impact-driven contributions.

Commenting on the award, Dr. Pradeep Edward said: “It’s an honour to be recognised as the ‘CEO of the Year’ by one the world’s top awards events. I dedicate this award to all my fellow staff who extended their fullest support to achieve my objectives staying with me even during hard times. All these achievements are a result of a team effort and I am proud to lead such a dedicated and hardworking team.”

Dr. Edward has over 25 years of corporate experience in both local and multinational companies, with over 20 years of experience at management level and 10 years at board level, in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. He holds three Fellowships from the Charted Institute of Marketing, Institute of Management Specialist-UK and the Marketing Institute of Malaysia. He is a life member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and the former President of both SLIM and the Pharma Promoters Association of Sri Lanka. He has also held the General Secretary position in Sri Lanka Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry (SLCPI). 

He has been involved as a Judge and Speaker at several local and international events and he has bagged the Deshamanya Award for his priceless services to the nation. Presently, he holds the posts of Secretary General of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF representing 18 countries in Asia), and Chairman of the Management Club – Colombo. 

He was recently appointed as the Head of the panel of judges for the Asian Youth Awards and Women’s Awards. Under his guidance as the CEO, Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics in the year 2018 has achieved an 18% growth on revenue and 49% growth of profitability and most importantly, achieved 100% profitability targets in 2019 with a growth of 9% and 18% in top line and bottom line respectively even after the April terror attacks.
