Pathway to membership of CA ANZ available for members of CA Sri Lanka

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) signed a landmark agreement on Thursday, 8 November to strengthen the scope of CA Sri Lanka members.   

The agreement was signed by CA Sri Lanka President Jagath Perera and CA ANZ Chief Executive Officer Rick Ellis, in Sydney, Australia, in the presence of Consul-General for Sri Lanka in Sydney Lal Wickrematunge, President of CA ANZ Jane Stanton, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka Manil Jayesinghe, Immediate Past President Lasantha Wickremasinghe, and Member of Council N.R. Gajendran. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by the Institute’s past presidents Yohan Perera, Arjuna Herath, Prof. L.R. Watawala and several members of CA Sri Lanka who reside in Sydney. 

The agreement paves way for members of CA Sri Lanka and CA ANZ to obtain membership from either Institute, while also allowing Chartered Accountants of both bodies to enhance their pre-eminence of the CA designations and continue to be an important contributor to the organisation and country they serve for.

CA Sri Lanka enjoys agreements with some of the world’s top international professional accounting organisations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and CPA Australia, in an effort to further enhance and strengthen the standing of members of CA Sri Lanka.
