NHRDC Rakiya Aruna Program in Matale

The National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka held its popular ‘Rakiya Aruna’ program recently with the aim of assisting school leavers identify vocational trading opportunities and change their attitude towards employment in the private sector. The objective of this project is to provide information for the youth of the country about the vocational training opportunities and employment opportunities in the country. 

This latest program was conducted on 31 May from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mahathma Gandhi Hall in Matale district with the cooperation of National Chamber of Commerce, Manpower Department, Vocational Training Institutes, Zonal education offices, district secretariats and all divisional secretariat. 23 companies in the private sector participated in this program. Out of 1,100 participants, about 300 were recruited by the companies. The next Rakiya Aruna program will be conducted in the Ampara District.
