KPMG announces appointment of new partners

KPMG’s local member firm in Sri Lanka announced the appointments of M.N. Mohamed Shameel and J.M.P. Saliya Jayaweera as Partners of KPMG in Sri Lanka and the Maldives respectively, with effect from 1 April. 

Shameel, who has been associated with the firm for a period of 17 years, served most recently as a Partner of KPMG in the Maldives, and previously held a number of roles and positions with the Middle East and Sri Lanka offices of KPMG. 

Shameel is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. Jayaweera, an alumnus of the firm, counts over 29 years of experience as a financial professional both overseas and in Sri Lanka. He served most recently as a Senior Director for a leading advisory firm in the Middle East and previously held a number of strategic level positions in the private sector in the Middle East and in Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
