K. N. Jayatilake Memorial Oration today

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Peradeniya will hold the K.N. Jayatilake Memorial Oration today (24 July) at 3 p.m. at the Arts Faculty Seminar Room at Peradeniya University. 

This is an annual memorial event to celebrate the academic works of late Prof. Jayatilake, who was the Head of the Department and the professor of Philosophy. 

This year’s memorial oration will be delivered by Prof. P.D. Pramasiri, Emeritus Professor and former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, on the topic of ‘Buddhist Epistemology and Logical Positivism’. 

Prof. Upul Dissanayake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Prof. O.G. Dayaratne Banda, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Dr. Chartiha Herath, Head of the Department of Philosophy will speak at this event
