Abans holds Achievers Night 2019

Sunday 27 October was a red-letter day for the managers of Abans network of over 600 Retail, Duty Free and Elite showrooms islandwide. It was Abans Annual Achievers’ night at the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Hotel in Colombo.

The galaxy of Abans Showroom Managers and invitees walked in to take their seats in the glittering Hilton Ballroom to the heart-throbbing sounds of an amazing drum fusion by the Naadro Drummers which heralded the commencement of the convention program.

Abans Group Managing Director Tito Pestonjee welcomed the managers and thanked them for being instrumental in the company achieving its targets for the year.

Abans Group Founder and Chairperson Aban Pestonjee was next to address the gathering. She praised and thanked the management and staff of Abans for their dedicated performance during difficult times 

As the proceedings progressed, a very interesting motivational video presentation was made focusing on team-work and unity, especially during difficult times and this was followed by an address by Channa Pathirana, Deputy Director of Abans and Advertising and Promotional activations carried out in 2018/2019 were spelled out in detail. Lively acts of Drum Fusion and dance presentations by El Latino Dance Troupe interspersed during the formal items on the agenda held the interest and attention of the audience, while cocktails were served. The main item on the agenda was the presentation of trophies and certificates to showroom managers who were highest sales achievers in various categories of products and also showroom managers who had displayed outstanding performance in other areas of Product Promotion, Showroom Maintenance, Revenue, Inventory Control, etc.

A comedy act by Giriraj and Priyantha kept the crowd in fits of laughter after which everyone was requested to look under their seats for 10 lucky winners of surprise gifts of elegant Titan Watches.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the compere and the large gathering were treated to a scrumptious buffet dinner.
