and UNICEF launch new checkout donation ‘For Every Child’

In the latest stage of their ongoing relationship, leading e-commerce retailer has today officially launched ‘For Every Child’, a new feature that enables customers to make donations to UNICEF’s work for children, at checkout. 

The newly-introduced feature gives customers the option to add a donation of between Rs. 150 to Rs. 1,500 to their total order amount during checkout. Initially, this option will be available on a selection of bestselling items, with a further roll out to other products in coming months. 

Donations made by customers will support UNICEF’s work to help improve the lives of children and communities. Customers who have chosen to make the donation will be provided with a certificate of thanks from UNICEF and, with the purchased product on collection. CEO Dr. Nushad Perera stated: “We are excited to launch the ‘For Every Child’ checkout donation and we hope our new website feature provides better convenience for our customers to make donations to UNICEF, as well as increase awareness on how donations can be made to UNICEF via our website.”

UNICEF Sri Lanka Representative Tim Sutton added: “The ‘For Every Child’ checkout donation feature is yet another new and innovative way that Sri Lankan’s can help children, especially the most poor. To have this now available on with a vast and engaged customer base is a unique opportunity. We thank for their continued commitment to UNICEF and look forward to seeing the impact of this on children and communities across the country.”

The ‘For Every Child’ check out donation is the latest stage in the ongoing relationship between the two parties that saw the opening of Sri Lanka’s first ‘Inspired gift’ virtual gift shop on in November 2018.
