Sri Lanka’s leading health and beauty retail chain, Healthguard – a subsidiary of the healthcare sector of Sunshine Holdings PLC – recently opened its newest full-service store for the public at the One Galle Face (OGF) mall, Colombo’s premier shopping hub for international and local brands. The 24th outlet of the pharmaceutical chain will be located on the lower ground floor of the mall.

The One Galle Face outlet of Healthguard comes as an extension of the strategic business model of the company, which is to address the ever-evolving health, wellness and beauty needs of Sri Lankans through the introduction of world-class products and service. The newly-established full-service store was ceremoniously opened by Sunshine Holdings PLC Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy, Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Managing Director Shyam Sathasivam, Healthguard Pharmacy Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Infiyaz Ali, along with other company officials and distinguished guests.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Healthguard Pharmacy Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Infiyaz Ali said, “Since its inception, Healthguard has aimed to set a benchmark in healthcare retailing in Sri Lanka. Our concept of promoting health and beauty has disrupted the business model of a traditional pharmacy.”

Leading the market as Sri Lanka’s most modern retail pharmacy chain, Healthguard is focused on creating value, expanding choice and delivering superior service to customers. Healthguard’s vision of offering convenience and enriched shopping experience for consumers synergises well with the vision set by One Galle Face – Colombo’s first internationally-developed and managed mixed-use development project – which aims to bring the ultimate convenience and connectivity for its tenants and shoppers.

The new Healthguard outlet at No. 27 encompasses the modernity of design aesthetics, visual display of products, engagement points for product as well as service experiences. Apart from the visual experience, customers can expect to receive the same warm, courteous and professional service rendered by the staff, which is the result of extensive service training they undergo continuously. Healthguard believes that this unmatchable service brings unmatched brand recognition and sustainable competitive advantage for the chain.

To mark the launch, Healthguard has also planned a series of on-ground activations for visitors from 9 till 30 November which includes body scans, free neuropathy tests, fitness instructor sessions, free nail art and makeover sessions, raffle draws, and free product sample giveaways. Building on the immense brand loyalty and goodwill generated by the brand Healthguard, the Company plans to rapidly expand its footprint across the Western Province, extending its customer touch-points to a total of 50 stores within the next two years.

Healthguard Pharmacy is a fully-owned subsidiary of Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd. (SHL) – the healthcare arm of the diversified Sunshine Holdings conglomerate – with a network of 24 outlets across the Western Province of Sri Lanka.
