Ninewells Hospital clinches two Healthcare Asia Awards

 The hospital has introduced cutting-edge facilities for cosmetology and premier services for maternity and recovery. Ninewells Hospital Ltd. took home Sri Lanka’s ‘Facilities Improvement Initiative of the Year Award’ and ‘Service Innovation of the Year Award’ in the recently concluded Healthcare Asia Awards 2020.

The hospital, as Sri Lanka’s leading private hospital for women and childcare, seeks to provide the country with convenient and specialised services, covering obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics and fertility.

 Facilities Improvement Initiative of the Year

Expanding their array of service offerings, the institution opened their Aesthetic and Cosmetic Centre (ACC), which is fully geared to perform a range of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments by qualified, well-experienced doctors and consultants. The centre is currently the country’s largest, most advanced and only facility to employ multiple devices from the world-renowned brand ‘Lumenis’.

Some of the surgical procedures conducted at ACC include liposuction, abdominoplasty, implants, breast reconstruction surgeries, cosmetic ear procedures, neck lift, brow/face lift, mommy makeover, gynaecomastia correction, and a range of face and body contouring surgeries.

As for non-surgical treatments, the centre offers botox procedures, dermal fillers and laser hair removal. They also conduct laser facial rejuvenation, chemical peels and PRP, among others. Additionally ACC performs treatments for acne, stretch marks, hair growth, cellulite, scars and spider veins and conducts the removal of warts, skin tags, tattoos and birthmarks.

All ACC procedures are carried out within the Ninewells Hospital, and this provides round-the-clock emergency service support through a close collegial environment. The doctors and medical surgeons involved are highly-skilled, board-qualified and the staff are well trained to provide a premier level service to its clientele.

As part of Ninewells’ premier services, the novel facility caters primarily to women who wish to embark on their journey of motherhood in true style and comfort, as well as adult and paediatric patients who wish to recover in an exclusive and lavish environment, post-surgery.

The new Maternity and Surgical Ward offers five uniquely themed ‘Ultra Luxury Maternity Suites’, which are designed to redefine and accentuate the experience of maternity and motherhood. The facility also houses a state-of-the-art private delivery suite, which is the first of its kind in the country.

Based in the Ultra Luxury ‘Moon’-themed suite, the private labour room provides expecting mothers the opportunity of opting to give birth in a water birth facility. Besides this, the suite also has a modern obstetric bed, along with every instrument, equipment and facility necessary for both normal and water delivery.

Alongside the ‘Ultra Luxury Maternity Suite Wing’, the facility also comprises nine ‘Executive Surgical Suites’, which are furnished with advanced facilities for accommodating gynaecological, paediatric, general and plastic surgery patients.

Patients who avail the Ninewells premier services can also experience an array of VIP service elements such as in-room admission, in-room billing, as well as a fine-dining function with a specially curated food and beverage menu.

In addition to this, a dedicated nurse and a dedicated customer experience executive who acts as a primary point of contact, will be assigned to each suite, where all requirements of each patient will be assigned and handled by them, respectively.
