Lanka IOC helps combat COVID challenges

The Government has further intensified the battle against the fast spreading second wave of COVID-19 by extending strict screening of common public and enforcing the protocols required to be followed for controlling the spread of the infection. Schools are also being shortly opened up in a phased manner complying with COVID norms and meeting the guidelines of ‘new normal’.

Assisting the Government’s efforts to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, contactless infrared thermometers were distributed under the patronage of Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpilla to the principals of all schools under Seethawaka Divisional Secretariat in Colombo District by Lanka IOC.

Gammanpilla during his address complimented Lanka IOC for always showing concern and effort to support society which he said would go a long way in creating a healthy society and also congratulated Lanka IOC for coming forward as a responsible corporate always. As schools reopen, the Minister said that it was very important to work to safeguard the health of students and teachers, while giving parents the confidence to help their children return to school. 

Lanka IOC MD Manoj Gupta assured to always stand for such worthy causes and endeavour to help the citizens of the country in fighting the pandemic. “Through this contribution, we hope to make our efforts to protect the school students and teachers from this global pandemic.”

Lanka IOC has been coming forward on regular basis as a support in the battle against the spread of COVID-19. Besides the above, Lanka IOC also provided peddle-push washbasins, thermometers and masks to 10 schools to ensure hygiene and as a preventive measure for COVID-19 infections among school-going children. 

Lanka IOC PLC, the only listed and one of the largest private sector companies engaged in marketing of petroleum products, is contributing immensely to the upliftment of society through its CSR initiatives and has always been steadfast in coming forward for discharging obligations towards the community.
