Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre coordinating office opens in Colombo

A coordinating office for the Chennai-based Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre was opened in Colombo recently under the patronage of the world’s most successful liver transplant surgeon, Professor Mohamed Rela.

The new office was opened at No. 1, Boteju Road, Thimbirigasyaya, Colombo 5. All coordinating activities on behalf of the 

Sri Lankan cirrhosis patients waiting for transplant surgeries at Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre in Chennai, India will be carried out by this office in Colombo.

A medical team that included Colombo University Paediatric Unit Professor Dr. Shaman Rajindrajith, Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre Liver Transplant Surgery Specialist Dr. Gomathy Narasimhan,

 specialist in liver-related diseases Dr. Dinesh Jothimani, liver transplant surgery specialist Dr. Naresh Shanmugam, and Dr. Ilankumaran Kalaimurthi, Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre local agent M.F.A. Riyas, and patients on whom Professor Rela had performed liver transplants in India also participated in the opening ceremony.
