Doc990, Sri Lanka’s pioneering digital health solutions service provider, extended its channelling platform free of charge to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH).

The launch of 1390 toll-free, trilingual channelling hotline (from any mobile network) at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) was part of its continued efforts in uplifting use of technology in the healthcare sector. This will be an integral step forward in the digitisation journey of LRH, allowing patients to reap the benefits of a remote doctor channelling service.

LRH annually serves over 445,000 patients in over 40 clinics. As a value addition to the hospital’s processes, the Doc990 channelling system enables staff to manage doctor-patient appointments, making for a convenient doctor channelling experience for both patients and the hospital’s staff. This initiative is also backed by John Keells Office Automation Ltd. (JKOA) which donated 16 Samsung mobile phones to LRH.

With this channelling platform, patients from across the country can now dial its toll-free, trilingual hotline 1390 to place direct appointments with specialist doctors at any LRH clinic. Once an appointment has been scheduled, the patient will receive a SMS from Doc990 detailing the name of the clinic to visit, date and time along with the appointment number. Adding further value, patients will also receive reminders of appointments as well as notifications of any changes to their appointments via SMS.

Facilitating over two million appointments a year, Doc990 is currently available at over 140 private hospitals across Sri Lanka enabling patients to make appointments conveniently from home, by simply dialling 990 from any network, visiting www.doc.lk or by logging in to the Doc990 mobile app available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
