‘Turkish Delight’ at Hilton Residences

Hilton Colombo Residences on Thursday launched its Turkish food promotion, ‘Turkish Delight,’ at its main restaurant, FLOW. The promotion will continue until 7 March. This dining promotion features two guest chefs from Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, offering buffet dinner, exclusive chef’s table, poolside lunch, and culinary masterclasses.  

The Embassy of Turkey in Colombo partners with Hilton Colombo Residences to endorse the dining promotion for its success and worked closely with the hotel for authenticity. The Official Airline Partner, Turkish Airlines Inc., has provided unstinting support in having two guest chefs flow in from Istanbul.

‘Turkish Delight’ will feature recipes of two chefs who draw their inspiration from their tightly-woven culture and family. 

Ali Demir, the Senior Sous Chef of Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus counts over 25 years of experience and specialises in Mediterranean and Anatolian cuisines. Ali’s love for cooking was ignited at home, where his mother would share her passion for cooking with her son, paving the way for a successful career that would win Ali many local and regional accolades. 

Musa Akyaman, Chef de Partie of Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, brings 13 years of experience to Colombo. His speciality, Mezzes, is a favourite amongst diners back at home. He looks forward to introducing Turkish cuisine to Colombo and making this dining experience unique and memorable to diners at FLOW.

The ‘Turkish Delight’ dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 3,250 plus taxes per person and is available from 27 February until 7 March, 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Some of the dishes that will be featured are Kısır dürüm (wrapped cracked wheat salad), mantarlı talaş böreği (puff pastry wıth mushroom), kuzu etli talaş böreği (lamb pie), Mersin tavuk tantuni dürüm (chicken wrap), and much more.



The exclusive Chef’s table dining experience for up to 14 guests has limited slots from on 28 February and 6 March from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. and is priced at Rs. 6,250 plus taxes per person. 

Learn their secret cooking tips and famed stories behind each dish as you join the culinary masterclass with guest chefs on 7 March from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., priced at Rs. 3,750 plus taxes per attendee. The Sunday poolside lunch, ideal for a family with plenty out activities for kids is priced at Rs. 2,450 plus taxes per person.

Speaking of the event, Hilton Colombo Residences General Manager Linda Giebing said the hotel was exploring culinary destinations to reinforce FLOW’s positioning as a multi-cuisine restaurant. 

“Last year we explored three cuisines that were well received in Colombo – Indian, Indonesian, and Brazilian – and now we have ventured out to Turkey. We have the ready support from our sister hotel in Istanbul which has expressed its enthusiasm to bring yet another dining experience that is unique and rare to the diners in Colombo.”

She said that belonging to a network of almost 5,900 hotels around the world helped hotels to bring authentic experiences to diners. “We have had the ready support of the Embassy of Turkey in Colombo, which has driven awareness of the cultural and culinary nuances that are unique to them, and also strengthened ties with Turkish Airlines, which has joined hands as the Official Airline Partner. We’re excited about this launch and do not doubt that it will a resounding success.”
