‘Slave Island’ by Prasad Hettiarachchi at Barefoot

An exhibition titled ‘Slave Island’ by Prasad Hettiarachchi is being held at Barefoot Gallery from 30 January to 16 February. “The landscapes around Slave Island and Galle Face in the City of Colombo are undergoing rapid changes. Slave Island and Galle Face are being taken over by large scale development projects with New Capital descending on old properties. Old residents are being marginalised and displaced at a rate proportionate to this development.
