It was a highly entertaining evening watching ‘Rhythm in Life’, the musical theatre held in Perth recently. The trio from Sri Lanka – Saranga Disasekera, Raveen Kanishka and Shanudri Priyasad – well talented in dancing and singing were supported by a young set of male and female dancers numbering nearly 60.

Prashadi Ranasinghe of the Prashadi Dance Academy in Sri Lanka, who was the choreographer, deserves a big cheer for a neat and tidy presentation. Music Director Tharindu Jayatilake too added much to the success of the evening. Wished he was present to share the accolades.

Ridma Foundation Inc. should be happy about the success of their effort.

Saranga hailing from a musical family was a treat when the trio ended the evening by singing the ever-popular songs sung by Saranga’s father, Narada Disasekera – ‘Arichchci borichchi’ and ‘Pipi pipi renu natana’. Young and old in the audience joined in the singing.

Saranga proved he continues to be the popular actor/singer/presenter he has been over the past several years.

Both Raveen and Shanudri showed they have a bright future judging from the confidence they displayed in ‘Rhythm in Life’.  They were, in a way, continuing their positive start in the popular teledrama ‘Deveni Inima’ where Raveen continues his character as Anuhas with Shanudri moving out early.

As predicted by the organisers, the show was well received by the audience with the disciplined young male and female cast showing their skills.

While enjoying the evening those who watched the performance should be happy they have contributed to a worthy cause in helping a rural school in Sri Lanka where facilities are minimal.

Among the key objectives of the Ridma Foundation is helping economically-disadvantaged schools and students in Sri Lanka. So far five schools in very remote parts have been helped to uplift the educational facilities such as school buildings and teachers’ quarters. The school children are provided with drinking water and sanitary facilities.
