Sri Lankan Australian Malay Association stages Bollywood Night in Sydney

Sri Lankan Malays in Sydney celebrated their Annual SLAMA Night on 11 November at the Glenwood Community Hub, Glenwood, Sydney, with a Bollywood theme. Sri Lankan Consul General in Sydney Lal Wickrematunge was the Chief Guest.  In his speech, he paid a tribute to the many Malays who have served Sri Lanka in the armed forces as well as those who have brought the country fame in many fields, including sports. He also recalled some of his favourite Malay dishes, some of which were still his favourites. SLAMA President Kazeena Mantara welcomed everyone and thanked the Consul General for being a pillar of strength and support to the community and SLAMA in particular. The event included a children’s and ladies’ fashion show as well as dance sequences featuring community members
