Dark day for democracy

Chaos unfolded in Parliament ysterday with Speaker Karu Jayasuriya being escorted into the Chamber by police and taking a fresh vote on the no confidence motion while parliamentarians loyal to MP Mahinda Rajapaksa hurled projectiles at the police and the Speaker. After a vote by voice, which passed the no confidence motion, the Speaker adjourned Parliament till 19 November
