While Sri Lanka was more or less at a standstill in the face of curfew, supermarkets and printing presses were a hive of activity yesterday, with newspapers going to print and stocking up happening in preparation for tomorrow, when the curfew lifts for a few hours. Streets however were largely empty, apart from patrolling by Police personnel and cleaning services engaging in essential duties
