Work on Kadawatha-Mirigama section of Central Expressway begins

Construction of the Central Expressway Section I from Kadawatha to Mirigama formally began yesterday. The construction is via a $ 989 million concessional loan from the Exim Bank of China. The main contractor is Metallurgical Corporation of China. The venture will generate 1,500 direct and indirect jobs for Sri Lankans, the Chinese Embassy tweeted yesterday.
