Virtusa clarifies

In response to the Reuters article titled ‘Lankan software engineer, under Indian surveillance, key in Easter attack’ published on Wednesday 15 May, Virtusa Corp. issued the following statement. 

“It was reported that our office was ‘raided’. This is not accurate. We invited the Police to conduct a sweep of our facilities, just as other local businesses have recently done as part of routine activities.

“It was also reported that one of the suspects was an intern at our company dating back to 2013. This is not correct. We never employed the suspect in any capacity.

“The Police have informed us that a single employee was taken into custody while at an undisclosed location.”
