Traceability should be extended to garbage

We associate the concept of ‘Traceability’ with supply chains. Equally or more important is the traceability of non-biodegradable packing i.e. who is responsible, where does it end up and for how long? 

The manufacturers of products with non-biodegradable packaging should be given two choices i.e. recycle your own packaging or lease space in the garbage dumps – with compulsory prominent branding! The rate at which we are generating non-biodegradable material is so alarming, it requires radical measures.
