The Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) has welcomed the appointment of Kimarli Fernando as the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Tourism.  

“I would like to offer her my sincere congratulations on behalf of THASL. We pledge our fullest support to her and look forward to a productive cooperation to improve our country’s tourism industry and business,” THASL Chairman Sanath Ukwatte said. 

According to him, a number of key positions of State-owned enterprises (SOEs) have been filled with very capable people from the private sector with proven track records, and “Kimarli Fernando’s appointment is one of them. We believe she is an excellent choice and wish her all the best,” Ukwatte added.
