SriLankan Airlines Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul contract goes to GE Engine Services

  • Contract period from 15 August 2019 to 31 December 2023
  • 10 overhauls anticipated for seven engines used in three A320 aircraft

GE Engine Services has won the contract for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services of SriLankan Airlines’ CFM56-5B engines for the period from 15 August 2019 to 31 December 2023, after Cabinet approved a proposal to this effect made by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera.

It is anticipated that during the stipulated period there will be 10 overhauls to seven engines used for three A320 aircraft fitted with CFM56-5B engines, owned by SriLankan Airlines.

GE Engine Services was the lowest evaluated and substantially responsive bidder selected from the bids called for on a Limited Competitive Basis and was subsequently awarded a $ 57,785,317 contract.
