Siemens India and DIMO get Rs. 4.6 b power project

Cabinet approval was given on Tuesday to award the contract for setting up of primary substations, distribution substations and cable construction under a national power improvement project to a joint venture of Siemens Limited, India, and DIMO Ltd.

Cabinet approval to award the Rs. 4.6 billion contract to the joint venture was given after considering a proposal presented by Power, Energy and Business Development Minister Ravi Karunanayake. 

The primary substations, distribution substations and cable construction in Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, and Battaramulla areas will be upgraded under the National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Improvement Project.
