By Chandani Kirinde

A meeting between UNP Party Leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa ended last night with both sides agreeing to reach a final decision soon as to who the Party’s candidate should be for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Premadasa told reporters after the meeting that it was positive, and that a final outcome would be made known soon.

He was joined by Ministers Malik Samarawickrama, Kabir Hashim, and Ranjith Madduma Bandara, while Minister Rajitha Senaratne too participated in the discussion.

Wickremesinghe had said he would discuss with the UNF constituent parties before announcing the name of the presidential candidate.
