No property developer will be allowed to carry out work except under the authority of a Certificate of Registration issued on that behalf by the Director General of the Construction Industry Development Authority, under new Regulations promulgated by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing Facilities.

Every property developer who wishes to register under the Authority will require to make and make an application to the DG with a processing fee of Rs. 2,000 and relevant documents.

These regulations are cited as the Construction Industry Development (Registration of Property Developers) Regulations of 2020.
