President appoints new Cabinet today

  • Will include leaders of UPFA constituent parties

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will appoint a 15-member Cabinet today, which will include leaders of the UPFA’s constituent parties, including the SLFP, MEP, and CWC.

The function will take place at the Presidential Secretariat at 8.00 a.m.

Among those who are tipped to be appointed as Cabinet Ministers are MPs Ramesh Pathirana, Dinesh Gunawardena (MEP), S.M. Chandrasena, Bandula Gunawardena, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Wimal Weerawansa, Arumugam Thondaman (CWC), Nimal Siripala de Silva, Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Dullas Alahapperuma, Chamal Rajapaksa, Douglas Devananda (EPDP), Prasanna Ranatunga, Johnston Fernando, and Mahinda Amaraweera.

These parliamentarians have been invited to be present at the Secretariat this morning, Daily FT learns.
